Who We Are

Citizens for a Third Way is a PAC that will break through polarization to support rational solutions for America’s problems.

We are so divided in America today that we have abandoned thinking. Obama’s far left pushes him to socialism and extreme positions on things like global warming, and Boehner’s far right pressures him on matters like holding the world hostage during the debt ceiling negotiations, willing to ruin the economy for the sake of ideology. Our country is run at the moment by economic illiterates.

Parts of our foreign policy are equally ineffective.

America

We even have a fundamental battle over our vision for America. On the right, we see ourselves as a loose confederation of states that loves country but wants it no bigger and no more sophisticated than when we were thirteen colonies with 2.5 million people. This was exactly the dire problem George Washington faced in trying to knit together the fiercely independent colonies into something more united that could act like a world power.

On the left, we see ourselves as a European nanny state, economically bereft but sharing the dwindling wealth in fairness.

Neither Vision is Adequate for America as the Shining City on the Hill, the Beacon for the World.

Citizens for a Third Way sees America as a fundamentally sound nation based on the Constitution, but sophisticated in using that framework for a modern nation that can meet all challenges. We are not returning to the nation of the Founding Fathers and the thirteen colonies. We are instead continuously developing our national morality, based on the Constitution's sound principles, able to grow into the fruition of the Founders' dreams.

Citizens for a Third Way

will use common sense based on sophisticated economics, science, and international relations. We may need a Third Party, which will operate independently, or support candidates that represent our views, much like the Tea Party, but with rational policies.
